The Big Kahuna!

Mark was told that if yet let the chickens free range, there eggs will become bigger. This is because they are expert at finding worms and I guess this gives them more protein. That being said, they were running around for about 2 hours one day and they next morning, Cordon Bleu laid the Big Kahuna. Julia measured and this egg was 6 inches around at the widest point and 3 inches from top to bottom. Additionally, this egg weighs about 3 ounces, our average eggs are weighing in at about 1.5 ounces. Needless to say, Bleu didn't lay another egg for 2-3 days after producing this noteworthy breakfast sandwich. BTW, we have yet to crack it open yet. The kids are convinced it will be a multiple yoke extravaganza.

That egg is GINORMOUS (as Will Ferrell would say in the movie Elf!!!)!!! I am your mom's spin instructor and she knows that I love protein so she brought a half dozen the other week. I eat 6 eggs a day! I have to say your eggs are the BEST eggs I've ever had in my whole LIFE. I was so amazed by all the different sizes and colors too! Your blog is AWESOME and I will definitely add it to my favorites! Hope to meet you, the chickens, and the new guard dog soon! Love, Hedda
